Boys Varsity Soccer · Cardinals beat Sequoyah 1-0

A depleted Osborne squad managed to overcome the Sequoyah Chiefs Tuesday night in their region match. The Cardinals came into the game dealing with several injuries and could only travel with 17 players, including three goal keepers and five JV call ups. They rose to the challenge though and Edwin Garcia managed to produce some slick passing sideways through the goal box, allowing Eduardo Gonzalez to slot the ball home for his first varsity goal in his first varsity game.
At the other end, Sequoyah looked sure to score when they were through on goal, but team captain Fernando Perdomo stood strong to produce an amazing double save to rescue the night. Man of the match goes to Aristeo Alvarado, who was involved in every play, every challenge, and never stopped working.
